Today I am breaking into the deep-down science of stress and how it affects weight gain and burning fat. I’m talking about cortisol, stress, and glucocorticoids that causes us to store belly fat.
If you haven’t already checked it out, head on over to my free web seminar I just posted on my website breaking down how to use intermittent fasting and a specific, new way of training to start burning unwanted body fat and get into the shape you deserve to be in.
0:50 – Your brain reacts to stress first. The brain first reacts to stress, then sends a signal to the adrenal gland to trigger a specific cholesterol at the said adrenal site that’s then converted to cortisol.
1:17 – Cortisol is a steroid hormone that is released due to stress.
1:30 – Glucocorticoids regulate glucose metabolism.
1:46 – When the body produces cortisol, it then signals to the body to release sugar all throughout to trigger enough energy to run.
1:58 – The body doesn’t differentiate between causes of stress, so regardless, once glucose is released by the body it must be burned, fast.
2:42 – Chronic stress and highly-elevated cortisol levels cause the release of fatty acids that are no longer going to be burned; carbs are converted through lipogenesis into stored belly fat and fat from other areas are then displaced, not burned off and eliminated.
4:00 – https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28229550
4:35 – How to modulate and deal with stress.
