Believe it or not, nutrition made an even bigger impact on me than working out. If you’re trying to lose your belly fat, it’s the biggest single factor. So if you’re deciding whether the food or the gym matters more, for me the answer is the food.
What taking nutrition seriously did for me
I started taking my nutrition seriously in my 20s, and it changed a lot more than how I looked.
Yes, it made me look better. It also made me feel better. But it went way beyond that. It made me more productive. And it made me more money, because of how much better I was working.
So when I say nutrition made a bigger impact than working out, I don’t just mean my body. It was really the foundation for a lot of the other success I found. That’s my own experience, and that’s why I’m telling you about it.
What it looks like for me today
Here’s what that looks like for me today:
- I skip breakfast and don’t eat anything until about 2 p.m.
- Then I start with a big salad.
- Every meal has a large serving of meat, fish or eggs.
- I meal prep, which costs me about $8 or $9 a meal. That’s less than ordering Chipotle.
I want to point out that last one, because a lot of guys tell themselves that eating right is expensive. That excuse is gone. About $8 or $9 a meal is less than ordering Chipotle, so if you can pay for Chipotle, you can’t tell me eating right costs too much.
What to do if you’re in your 20s or 30s
If you’re in your 20s or 30s, start taking your nutrition seriously right now. Not later. Right now.
Start by paying attention to what you’re eating. Get a big serving of protein at every meal and stop eating junk. That’s where you start.
It’s the biggest single factor in losing your belly fat, and it’ll make a huge impact on the rest of your life. I tell the full story in another video if you want to see how it all went for me.
